Dresses are a Summertime staple for me. When the days get so hot you feel like you may in fact melt, pants are not your friend. Dresses, however, are the perfect piece. They are simple to style for work and easy enough for weekend play. When I saw this sweet cotton number on sale for $25 at Old Navy, I let out a small cheer. I love the structure and the bright royal blue is such a fun pop of color. It has been great for Sunday church and perfect for evening errands with simple flats. It is just so perfect for Summer, I went back and got it in black!
I don't know about y'all, but I find myself wanting to slow down in the Summer months. I crave simplicity in everything from make-up and hair, to food and entertainment. Effortless pieces like this dress, or my favorite monogram bracelt seem to be in constant rotation. Meals tend to stray from anything complicated to easy prep on fresh fruit and veggies. I don't know if it is the nostalgia of easy Summers from my childhood, or the craving to just slow down a bit, but from May to August a subtle switch insides goes to laid-back mode and life seems a bit smoother. I love it.
I hope you have a great start to your week!
