With Summer officially here I thought it might be fun to share some of my favorite drinks to sip on when the temps get hot. My go-to drinks during this season are light, clean, and not too sweet. I love mixing in fresh fruit or herbs and I always opt for low-calorie and low-sugar options. Here are my top five for your enjoyment!
1. Vodka Vaughan
Fill cup up with ice, pour ingredients over and stir.
- 1 oz Vodka
- Juice from 1/2 Lime
- LaCroix (Lime or Paple-Mousse)
- Ice
Add gin, freshly shredded ginger, basil and lime juice and muddle to draw out extracts and mix flavors. Add ice, top with ginger ale, stir, garnish with fresh lime and serve!
- 1 1/2 oz gin
- 6 oz diet ginger ale
- 1/4 fresh lime
- Fresh basil
- Pinch fresh shredded ginger
3. Summer Berry Spritzer
Mix all ingredients except club soda. Pour over ice, top with a splash of club and enjoy!

- 2 parts Skinnygirl Bare Naked Vodka
- 5 muddled blueberries
- Dash of grenadine
- Club soda
Mix all ingredients, then pour over a glass of ice.
- 1 1/2 oz. Gin
- 1 oz. Fresh Lemon Juice
- 1/2 oz. Blue Agave Nectar
- 2 oz Sparkling Water
- Splash of Organic Pomegranate Juice
5. Cucumber & Melon White Sangria (Source)
Mix all ingredients in pitcher add ice, then enjoy!
- 1 Bottle Dry Sauvignon Blanc
- 1/2 Cup Dry Vermouth
- 2 Cups Diced HoneyDew Melon
- 1 Cup Diced Cucumber
- 1/2 Cup Torn Fresh Basil
- 1 Cup Chilled Plain Seltzer
- Ice
