Austin Foodies - Mettle Bistro

Austin is such a good place for foodies.  New restaurants are popping up all over, but the East side of downtown is just exploding with them.  Last month we made reservations for Mettle with friends and just loved it!

Their menu is full classic entrees with eclectic twists and modern dishes with a trendy spin.  Naturally we had to try as much as four could eat, which included Vegan Chicharron (amazefest; you must ask them how this is made), Beef Tongue Tacos (don't you judge, tongue is where it's at), Fried Chicken, Short Rib Stroganoff (GoodNESS), Flat Iron Steak, and local vegetables.

The ambiance was relaxing, and the table was set simple which balanced our energetic waiter.  It was very cold when we went, but I'd love to go back this Spring for brunch on the patio.

Pricing was consistent with others I would consider like it; Searsucker, ParkSide, and Swift's Attic.

I took a few poor quality pictures while I was stuffing my face, but if you are in the area I would recommend checking this place out.

Happy Eating!
