Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! We made it through another work week and are a stones throw from the weekend...thank you, Jesus. We have pretty much been go-go-go all week and I'm looking forward to an easy weekend of birthday celebrations & office Christmas parties.  But before I get ahead of myself let me share a few favorites from this week!

1. Trail of Light - It been years and years since Tanner and I have been to one of Austin's best holiday traditions, The Trail of Lights, so when the SIL and boyfriend invited us we said yes.  This year didn't disappoint; the weather was perfect, the lights were beautiful and the big tree was impressive. If you are in the ATX get the ZIP passes and go enjoy!

2. Taken to the Tea: While I was finishing up a Christmas purchase TV was wondering around and made his way into Teavana where he was told about monkeys that climb into tree and pick these Dolong leaves for the most healthy tea a person can drink.  In fact the sweet salesman told us that his co worker drank this 3 times a day for a year and lost 120lbs...to which I said, "Drinking only tea will do that to you"...he wasn't amused.  But given that Monkeys are involved and that it didn't taste that bad/we are an easy sell we signed up to take some home. When he weighed out a small can it came to a whopping $112.00.  After I laughed, I asked him to pour a good amount out, and we walked out with a $48 can of tea leaves...UGH.
Lesson Learned: Don't let your husband walk around the mall while you shop.

3. This Man - On Tuesday we celebrated the 28th year of my sweet man friend.  I so grateful God made me his wife, and I can't wait to see what this 28th year will bring our way.

4. Progress Made - Christmas shopping has been slow going this year despite my best efforts to start early and avoid the stress of last minute gifting.  I don't know how people get everything done in a weekend; it takes me forever to find stuff.  I still have a few people left, but major progress was made this week which makes to feel better.  CHEERS to finish up this Sunday!

5. Celebrating My Dad - I'm not sure what I did to get this hand, but my dad and husband have the same birthday.  I like making a big deal of birthdays so I HATE that they share one, but luckily for me they are easy going and are open to celebrating on different days. We are celebrating my dad's birthday tonight and I can't wait to make him feel special. He is simply the best.

I hope yall have a great weekend staying warm and enjoying the holiday season!

See you Monday!

  3. Ugh, Teavana will get you every time. What is it about spending ridiculous amounts of money on tea that is fun I am not quite sure...but I always find myself wanting something from there.
