A Bright Color Block

The color block hit stores in force last year and has been front and center of display cases and fitted to the bodies of many manikins since.  I love the bold look of the bright blocks, but have found some of the styles to be less than flattering. The kind of unflattering that makes you swear off chocolate and burn your bathing suits.  The design and layout of the block can create an illusion, but make sure it's the illusion you want. I found this dress a few attempts into my color block hunt at Target and loved the colors, but was holding my breath on the fit. Much to my surprise it was perfect; the vertical design of the block created a lengthening effect and the light fabric is perfect for the hot Texas nights.
