Product Review: Clarisonic Mia 2 Sonic Skin Cleansing System

Ok, ladies and one man (have to include the husband who sweetly reads every day), let's talk skin.  Over the last two months, I've been trying to step up my game in the skin department.  I have always washed and moisturized my face in then morning and night, but I haven't been religious about the quality of products or specific treatments for pore size and winkles.  I stuck with the same products in fear of my skin reacting poorly to anything new, along with no idea about what something "new" I should be trying.  But after realizing that I've been out of college longer than I was in, I decided it was time to put my big girl pants on and step it up in the skin care department.

Next week I will share my new routine, but today I wanted to review one of the tools I've been using.  I've heard a lot about the Clarisonic and was eager to try it.  When I saw Ulta put the Mia 2 on sale, I jumped in and got one.

What The System Includes:  The cleaning system comes with one cleaner, two brushes (one with soft bristles and one with medium bristles), a charging station, a small bottle of cleanser, and a travel case.  The systems also comes with directions on how the system works.

Set-Up: The set up was very straight forward.  I choose the brush, twisted it on the cleaner, and then charged it over night.  The charger is magnetic and attaches directly to the handle of the cleaner.

How It Works: I'm not sure how other models work, but The Mia 2 has two settings that control the speed of the pulses.  It also has a timer within the system that will vibrate when it is time to clean the next area of your face.  To use, I wet my face and apply cleanser, then I wet the brush and turn it on, selecting the high setting.  I use their timer which focuses on forehead for 20 seconds, the nose/chin for 20 seconds, and both cheeks for 10 seconds each. Then I wash my face off, dry, and apply moisturizers.

Cleaning & Storing the Cleaner: I use a little of my facial cleanser with warm water to clean the brushes.  I do this right after I wash my face, and find it works best when the cleaner is still on.  Over night I store it face down on a dry rag to dry.  I have been charging it every 3 days or so for a few hours.

Complaints: I really don't have have complaints thus far.  It is easy to use, clean, and charge.

I've been using the Mia 2 for a few weeks now and I really feel like I can see a difference.  My skin feels cleaner and much smoother.  My moisturizers seem to last longer, and my make-up is going on smoother and more even.

Overall, I'd give the MIA 2 an A+

I'd love to hear if any of you have had different experiences!
