As I was thinking about what to tell you, my favorite lady over at Living in Yellow, posted a "finding yourself 101" link-up with questions I thought were great. So here we are. Pour yourself a beverage, and cozy up for our second date.
Before we get too deep, I think you should know that I'm unable to make cookies without getting the icing somewhere on my face, and rarely go a week without a glass of red wine.
Ok, now that all the important stuff is out of the way, let's jump in...
1. IF YOU COULD DO ONE THING DIFFERENTLY IN YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
There are several things in life that have made me said, "Wow, Ashton. Maybe you shouldn't have done that a little differently, or possibly not at all." Most of those thoughts were motivated by hurt feelings, or outcomes I had planned to go differently. But now, I've been able to looks back and realize that my reaction was motivated by a lack of Faith. All the little bumps and trials were there because God had something better for me on the other side. I'm trying to get better at remembering this when I'm going through a challenging time. Those times are easier when you have faith that the outcome was perfectly planned for you.
2. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS
Hum...I don't want to jinx myself. I see myself 8 years into a wonderful marriage, possibly with a baby or two. I see myself being more involved in our community and church. I see myself still blogging...probably about different things though:) If I'm being honest, I'll probably also be into something crafty too, like sewing burp clothes or something motherly...haha
3.DO I HONESTLY WANT KIDS?
For as long as I can remember, I've known that I wanted to be a mom. One that is selfless, fun, creative, and always willing to play. Now that we've been married a few years, I still feel that way, but I'm less sure on the timing. I love my life with Tanner, just as his wife. I love our one-on-one time and spontaneous date nights. We just have so much fun. There is fear around loosing that, but the good news is, I don't have to fear timing. God will add to our family when he knows we are ready and until then, I get to enjoy the sole title of wife.
4. WHAT HAS BEEN THE BEST MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE SO FAR?
Finding Tanner. Hands down, the best moment so far. I loved my life before him, but it doesn't compare to my life with him. He is teaching me about love and I couldn't be happier. I'm a lucky girl.
5. WHAT IS YOUR LIFE THEME SONG?
Pour Some Sugar On Me is my theme when I want to dance in the shower. Neon Moon is my theme for a good two-step. Gravity is theme song to chillax with.
6. WHAT IS ONE THING YOU HAVE YET TO ACCOMPLISH THAT YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE YOU DIE?
I want to learn to role my "r's". While eating Mexican food. I know, you're shocked at my the high goals I set for myself. Seriously though, I want to learn Spanish.
7. IF YOU COULD CHOOSE ONE THING TO BE KNOW FOR, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Making a positive contribution to lives of the family and friends I encounter.
8. IF YOU COULD DO ANYTHING YOU WANTED RIGHT IN THIS VERY MOMENT (NO CONSEQUENCES, NO FEAR, ETC.), WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I would pack up and take a family trip to Europe. We would go see Greece, Italy, and France. It would be great. I would also make work start at 10 and end at 3.
9. WHAT HAS BEEN THE MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT IN YOUR LIFE?
Learning how to deal with death. Over the last two years I felt the pain of losing my first family members and close friends as an adult. It feels more real as an adult and the pain is very raw. I felt my first feelings of doubt in God when I watch a beautiful family of four lose one of the most Godliest fathers I knew to cancer, and then a year later lose an oldest son to a heart condition.
10. SUMMARIZE YOURSELF IN ONE WORD.
Loving. I feel like that is very generic, but I think that is my word.
I hope I didn't run you off, I'd love for us to have another date in the future! Also be sure to stop by on Thursday for a BaubleBar Give-Away!
