Tanner and I woke up this morning thinking about the same thing, a little baby girl named Ainsley Leora.
At 3:08 Monday morning she came into this world, the fourth member of a family we love. She is little sister to a big brother that stole our hearts a few years ago, and daughter to two amazingly dedicated, Christian parents. Every time we are with them Tanner and I make mental check lists of "Parenting To-Do's" - they are pretty amazing people.
Last night, we went to meet this precious little one; I had forgotten how small newborns are and how you can see parts of their parents or siblings in their little noses or eyes. She looks exactly like her big brother did a few short years ago.
Before we left, Ainsley's sweet parents honored Tanner and I with such a special request: they asked if we would be her God Parents! We were so humbled and overcome with joy; there was no question that we would accept this amazing gift. Tanner and I didn't grow up with God parents but we had many good Christian people in our life that loved us and led by example. We hope to be the same sort of example to this sweet little one.
What an amazing gift and blessing it is to get to be a part of her life. We are so thankful and praying that we fill the role!
