So, I know the whole idea behind Pinterest is to have one place to organize your thoughts and ideas, but what happens when your organized space becomes a mess?! I don't know about y'all, but after I created my initial boards I haven't looked back. A year later, that has turned into duplicate pins and messy boards. In the spirit of Spring Cleaning, and the need to not waste 45 minutes looking for a D.I.Y I swear I pinned; I decided to reorganize my organized mess. This is still a work in progress. The current "before" and "after" are below; along with a few tips I found through the clean-up.
- Look at your boards and find your big themes; Home, Holiday, Food, Style, etc. From there, create your boards based on segments of these themes. Example: Home - Living Space Ideas.
- Update the description and category for each board. Doing this will help followers understand what will be pinned, as well as make your pins available on the public boards.
- Move the current pins to the new boards and delete duplicates.
- As you pin new ideas and find they don't fit; create a new theme and board!
Happy Pinning!
I have to admit, mine is kind of a mess! I need to re organize my boards and especially rename everything. Great tips! Newest follower!
