Valentine's Day Fun

One of my first blog posts was about our first Valentine's Day as a married couple -- we cooked a special dinner together, and enjoyed a few glasses of wine.  This year as we made plans for round 2, we decided to reenact last year's success and start a tradition.


I found the picture below on Pinterest and was inspired to create a simple V-Day set up for our dinner. 

For the set-up below I used 2 square vases, 3 bags of sweet-tart message heart, 2 candles, 2 candles bases, satin wired ribbon, table cloth, 4 place mats, scrap-book paper, and some beautiful flowers . It only took about 15 minutes to set-up and made the evening just a little more special.


For dinner we had Lamb Chops with a Mint-Mustard Sauce, Couscous with Thyme, Roasted Asparagus and Cherry Pie.  We found this recipe in The Bride & Groom First and Forever Cookbook by Mary Corpening Barber and Sara Corpening Whiteford.  The book is amazing - we use it often and haven't found one recipe we don't like.
Simple Ingredients --- Start of the Mint-Mustard Sauce
Seasoning and Cooking Lamb Chops
Roasting Asparagus and Condensing the Mint-Mustard Sauce
The evening was a success and we officially added one more tradition to our family.
